12-in-12 2026: What Even Is This?

Backlog Bingo, a project started by my metamour Val, cohost of Live Genre Chronicles, typically run off of the Discord server for that podcast, did not run again this year. But! I still really get a lot out of structuring my play across a year, and the zeitgeist in December 2025 seemed to be setting up 2026 as "play 12 games recommended by 12 people in 12 months", i.e., twelve-in-twelve. So, that's what I'm doing~

This broadly became a Thing for 2026 for a lot of our polycule, so you'll see a lot of metamours touched on in here, and I think that's neat. :3

The necessary disclaimer: some people have chosen to interpret this as "you should limit yourself to one game per month / you must finish one game per month"; I have chosen the more generous interpretation of "you should finish your 12th game before December 31st", because I know that trying to force myself not to play something when I want will not work, nor will trying to jam a game into a month that otherwise gets very busy.

But, yeah! That's the idea! Let's do this.
